Purchasing is a major function of resource management and provides the necessary supplies, materials, equipment, and services that are necessary for achieving the goals and objectives of the school district. Purchasing does not only relate to the abovementioned purposes but also includes the management of the bidding, ordering, receiving, warehousing, distribution and accounting of said goods and services. In general, the objectives of purchasing are to ensure quality, quantity, and cost are balanced to achieve purchasing efficiency and effectiveness to support priorities.
